Michael considers each book a gateway between our world and a world consisted of only words. He reads often enough to be proud of his achievements of the books read. He truly enjoys books and does not use them as an excuse for anything. Often it is easy to see that he has difficulties when starting a book that he must finish it. When asked about Fake Reading, he simply stated that it does not exist in his dictionary. But in terms of reading, it can be a challenge at times but after giving a moment or two does he truly grasp the meaning behind the story. In terms of how often he reads, tis not often enough but something to be amazed at he guesses. Sometimes when reading books, he picks up a challenging book and plop upon a chair and reads often. Currently Michael is reading the book called The Silmarillion by Tolkien himself. The same Tolkien that wrote the Hobbit, and the Lord of the Rings. Then when asked how many books he read this summer. He stated that he read probably around ten books this summer. Yes he stated that three of them were indeed required but the rest was his choosing. Then when asked how bout last year, he laughed and stated probably around twenty at the most. That is talking about only novels. The biggest book consisted of short stories involving science fiction. But Manga would be a whole new number to think about he stated while chuckling. So soon after having a cup of tea and listening to the summer air. I asked him what were some of his favorite authors. Right off the bat was Neil Gaiman and Tolkien. Then soon afterwards were Alan Moore, Stan Lee, and two japanese authors that could not be named right off the top of his head. He stated that through them did he become a better reader through opening new pathways of ideas that could define so many worlds labeled differently. Upon understanding him did I ask what type of reader was he and simply stated that visual was his preference. Later on through the day was the conversation was at an end. So when soon leaving did I look around and discover that his house had almost two hundred to two hundred and fifty.
Michael is indeed a writer but one that is still a novice for these things. He learned to write through school and ideas that kept on bothering him until it was written down somewhere. Then stated that isnt that what everyone writes for? to have all these ideas out of your head and be able to focus on other important things. But the problem he pointed out was that all writers face with writing is coming up with original ideas. Those original ideas no longer exist but instead we all have to bend it so that no one can notice it. Take for instance Avatar, that is a reference to a lot of animes back in Japan. But the director presented it so that the normal audience wouldn't notice it. Later on in the discussion did I ask his preferences of writing does he enjoy best and Michael prefers just plain out paper and pencil and texting. One formal while the other informal he pointed out. Sure mixing up the two happens a lot he pointed out but it gets the best of us. Then when I asked about where these ideas come from. He stated that he gets them from other works. Ideas again are becoming more difficult and harder to come up. So Michael tries to scrap what he can with the endless shows and books he read and deeply tries to come up with something new he supposes. Not easy, but something worth investing into with this new age coming up. Soon enough in this conversation did I ask about criticism and he stated that it is something that he has a difficult time with. He supposes that it is best to have his works read in another room and chat one on one soon after finishing what was written. Tis something that he is still working on he supposes but until he can get it right. The old habit will continue to persevere. But he continued on about it. He described that the problem of criticism is something a little hard for him. When asked how often he writes? He simply pointed out that he writes when someone of importance messages him or an idea will not leave him alone until it is written down. But he pointed out. He feels lost in his writings and that deeply troubles him. He wishes someone can help him but he doesn't know where to start or how to begin something great. Do keep in mind he stated that all works does not come out as masterpieces while chuckling to this.
