To Begin, the definition of factor is a number or quantity that when multiplied with another produces a given number or expression. Then Zeros is something that when a function is graphed, For when the line passes through the X - Axis for how the Function is. That is what the zeros are to clarify the common mistake. But the connections between the two are rather impressive to mention. The zeros are essentially factors of the function but you need to use division to get the last function of the graph. Division you see, allows the mathematician to divide all the factors that are known to receive the last factor that does not appear on the graph. It not only helps the polynomial with multiplying the numbers in front of x but it gives off the last X needed to have it truly a polynomial factored. So yes, the degree of the polynomial is important because it allows us to predict the number of zeros and how many factors should be counted for in this scenario.
