The weather in books can obviously be pointed as the mood in some scenes. Or It could also be to add more props for an individual scene for the author. But one thing that many both Directors and Authors fail time and time again is over using it. Hellboy and John Wick for instance deal with a scene of mourning a really important character. They observe the individual being mourned and being slowly taken away in a vehicle or hole. But it is in the rain. What is the coincidence of something very tragic be on the same day in the rain? It was frustrating to figure this out when working on a poster of a chapter called "Its more than just rain or snow..." Why do the Directors need to add another layer of sadness to a scene of mourning and loss? Do they think the viewers do not understand the meaning of losing someone? That is one thing I've learned this week and hope to continue to add onto this idea.
Everyone complains that making a book into a movie does not work well together. But it is something unique when a author talks about his works can never actually be shown in the theaters. An article that was interviewing this particular author explains his reasoning. For the author who wrote the Golden Compass talked about his problem with the movie adaption. How certain scenes of the book use different context to describe a character or connection. He used metaphors of doors with keys as understanding something. For that was just one example he pointed out in his book and knew that in a movie. That would appear odd in a movie. But to a reader, It is something very much relatable and understanding the true purpose of the context.
For these are the things I've learned this week and hope to keep off the shelves instead of collecting dust for future reference.

This episode deals with the rain. It may sound odd but I was rambling about the rain and thought of how one is drenched in rain. This links shows evidence that running in the rain will gather more water than one who walks through the rain.
