How does one escape his fate? That is the question for which I would like to ask of you. For in the story that was written 2,500 years ago. A story was told of an individual called Oedipus who was bound to kill his father and marry his mother. He left his family, he tried everything within his power and still the prophecy came true. in the end, everyone despises him at a level that was unheard of to regard Oedipus. he was the savior of the city and he helped where he could. His mother/wife committed suicide because of the shock. His relatives and friends despise him for the things he did to try to figure out who was the villain. His sons and daughters no longer respected but despised for all the city's problems. And finally, his eyes gouged out by the pins that was near his mother/ wife's body. Oedipus, once an individual that the people believed to be one of the greatest the city has ever known. Now broken and lost for what he was born to do. His tragedy is simply this, he lived.
This tragedy presented a different output by simply stating that one does not need a flaw to create tragedy. Just the mere fact that the individual lived could be the very essence of the story involving tragedy. For my heart went out to Oedipus for he did not deserve such a fate such as that. Why? He tried with all that he could to escape his fate and still fulfilled it. I do not know what to add because that is all that I have learned of Oedipus. One does not create a story with a character that has a flaw or many. Just the mere fact that he lived is close enough for this. For that is all I have to say on this matter.
